For The Protection and Promotion of Great Basin Cultural Heritage Resources
About Us
Established in
1995, the Great Basin Institute was created as a California
nonprofit public benefit (501c3) corporation by a group of ranchers
and researchers to promote the protection, research and education
of the geological, natural and human history of the Great Basin.
Through its focus of interpreting cultural heritage resources to
the public, it has worked with private and public agencies to
facilitate educational, research and interpretive programs,
including the collection and preservation of oral histories and the
maintenance and curating of artifacts.
